18 Month Wellness Visit

Today was the girls' 18 month wellness visit (even though they are 19 months now....yep a little late for their check-up).  Ava is 32 1/4" tall (50th percentile) and weighs 22lbs 8 oz (20th percentile).  Ella is 32 3/4" tall (65th percentile) and weighs 22 lbs 14oz (30th percentile).  They are growing taller and taller by the day it seems but are still skinny little things.  The Doctor didn't seem concerned and said it is probably because they are so active.  I think it's a combo of that and how picky of eaters they are becoming.  Ava says 'NO' to anything you put on her plate that looks or feels different.  The only things she will eat are fruit, mac-n-cheese, breaded chicken fingers and beans & rice. Ella will eat most things most of the time but still has her days where food is just not appealing.  As for their visit, they did get 3 vaccines each....OUCH!!!  Both cried but I had a lolly-pop ready to go as a distraction which worked wonderfully!!!

Halloween 2011

For Halloween this year we went back to Aunt CC & Uncle Bret's in AZ for their annual Halloween Party.  Jason and I dressed up as Cowboys (well bull riders) and the girls went as a pig (Ella) and a cow (Ava).  The crazy thing was that my Mom, Steve, Ryan, Shelly & Brody were dressed in the same theme as we were so we had quite the farm family!

 There were a lot of great costumes this year, but this one took the cake!  Andrew, Sam and Sam's Sister Jennifer dressed up as "Toddler's in Tiaras".  Their costumes truly were HILARIOUS!!!  Andrew was such a trooper...heels and all!!

I couldn't resist adding these photos in....They're of Ella playing dress-up with a wig from Aunt CC's Halloween costume box.  She loved it, wore it for what seemed like an hour and was upset when she had to take it off!!

First Bandaid Worthy Owie

Ava got her first bandaid worthy owie today. She cut her finger (nothing serious) but it wouldn't stop bleeding so we put a bandaid on it. She kept sucking on the finger and the bandaid served as a great distraction!

Ella was a little jealous of the new addition to Ava's finger so we put one on her as well. She too was happy as can be after that!!

1st Disneyland Trip!!!

While camping at the Seal Beach Naval Base we decided to go to Disneyland.  It was the girls first time ever and we had an absolute blast!  We have 3 day (any day in the year) passes (thanks to Jim Locurto) so we will definitely be coming back!!

15 Month Wellness Exam

The Girls are 15 months now and had their baby wellness exam which unfortunately came with vaccines :(. Both girls are doing fantastic and growing like crazy. Ava is 30 3/4" tall and weighs 21lbs 6oz. Ella is 31" tall and weighs 22lbs 9 oz. They are both around the 50th percentile for height and 25-30th percentile for weight. Crazy how far they've come from when they were born - Ava at 4lbs 14oz and Ella at 5lbs 2oz!

Ella's FIRST Hair Cut!!!

Today Ella got her first haircut EVER!!! Although she is just shy of 15 months, her hair was getting out of control - mainly hanging in her eyes and bunching up at her neck. She was such a big girl sitting in the chair and didn't fuss at all....we were amazed!!!

Here the very nice hair dresser shows Ella the 'sprinkles' as she called it which was really just water from the water bottle.

Finally, her hair was put into a tiny pony tail on top with a flower.....so cute!!!

Ava did tag along....but as you all know she still doesn't have long enough hair to cut. Anyhow, she got to pretend and sit in the big girl chair too!

4th of July 2011

We spent 4th of July this year down in San Clemente at my Mom & Steve's house!  The weather was beautiful and we had an amazing time with great friends and family!

Ryan & Shelly's Baby Shower

I cannot believe that my little brother is having a baby!!! Having said that.....we decided to throw them a baby shower! Here are the Mommy and Daddy to be!!

Little Brody's room is going to be decorated in a monkey theme so we stuck with that for the decor and food for the shower. My mom, Jen and I had so much fun putting everything together!

So many friends and family came even though it was close to 95 degrees out!

With the heat, there were some that couldn't help but take a dip in the pool!

Ella has a tooth FINALLY!!!!

Ella FINALLY has a tooth!!!!  A little late, but that's ok.  Ava has both bottom teeth now and one on top is starting to pop through.  I hope they don't start biting each other!!! YIKES!!

While taking their 1st year photos, I happened to reach into Ava's mouth for something and felt a tooth popping through! FINALLY!!!! Yep, they are almost 1 and Ava has her first tooth. Ella is still toothless, but hey, that's okay!!

First Steps

The girls have officially BOTH taken their first steps!!! Ava was standing at 7 months and Ella at 8 months but now, they are on the move. Look out!!!
