Hiking and Sight Seeing in Bryce Canyon

We took the girls on their very first hike ever (and the first one for us in quite some time). Thanks to Jessi we had our new Baby Bjorn's so we were able to carry the girls along. They did great and actually didn't cry at all. They were, however, quite heavy by the end of our hike.

This is the Navajo Trail that we hiked. We hiked down into this canyon which was amazing! The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the red rocks really are.

Later in the week we all drove to each of the look-out points in Bryce Canyon. You could see the incredible 'hoodoos' (the specific rock formations found in Bryce Canyon), arches and gorgeous valley below.

Bryce Canyon Vacation

Our Bryce Canyon vacation was awesome! We were able to relax a ton (which was oh so needed) and spend lots of time outside in the fresh air. The girls LOVED to be outside!!! When we first arrived, we put the girls outside in their bouncers and they were happy as can be.

Although the days were warm (in the low 80's), the nights and mornings were chilly. Here are the girls with their adorable beanies that their Auntie Jen and Uncle Matty bought them! So cute!!

Camping did not mean that food was skimped out on. We ate better out in the wilderness than we eat at home. One night we (well Matty) made homemade pizzas in dutch ovens. And these were no ordinary pizzas....he used only the best fresh dough and Italian market ingredients. There were 4 trailers/motorhomes in our party and we all competed for who had the best pizza...of course we won!!!
We spent our evenings hanging out by the campfire....the girls were mesmerized by the fire light! The sky was so clear that you could see every star out there along with the milky way...it was amazing!

Yummy!!!

After our 'peas' episode, we moved on to carrots which Ava absolutely loved! She tried to eat them off of her bib. Ella didn't want anything to do with them at all.

A few days after that we moved on to sweet potatoes which Ava loved even more than the carrots. She even had a total meltdown when we ran out. Ella liked the sweet potatoes the best of all the veggies so far, however, didn't want to eat off of the spoon. She would rather lick them off her tray!

Peas Anyone??

Look How Big We Are Getting

Today Ella and Ava had their 4 month wellness visit (well, actually 4 1/2 month visit). Ella is now 25" long and weighs 13lbs and Ava is now 24 3/4" long and weighs 12lbs 12oz. It is amazing how big they have gotten given what they weighed when they were born. Ella was only 5lbs 2oz and Ava 4lbs 14oz. Overall, the Doctor said they are both very healthy and actually ready to be introduced to solid foods....well, rice cereal and veggies. Stay tuned for some great pics that I'm sure we will get of this next milestone!

Milestone for the Girls

The girls have officially hit one of their major milestones....they can both roll over now. Ava has actually been doing this since about 3 months and has it mastered, but Ella rolled over for the first time today. Boy are we going to have our hands full!!!
